Airport Hospitality Lighting Design

A premium airport lounge designed to feel open, calm, and connected to the rhythms of the day—even without a single window.

The Airport Lounge at LaGuardia Airport reimagines the airport experience through thoughtfully integrated architectural lighting. Working alongside Corgan Architects, Goldstick Studio developed a layered lighting strategy that transforms a completely enclosed interior into a bright, welcoming destination where travelers can relax, work, dine, or recharge.

Rather than relying on daylight, light itself becomes the architecture – shaping volume, defining circulation, and creating visual comfort throughout the space. Integrated illumination, concealed details, and custom decorative fixtures work together to establish an environment that feels spacious, warm, and naturally inviting from arrival to departure.

Lighting becomes the architecture.

Without access to natural daylight, illumination becomes the primary tool for shaping space and guiding the guest experience. Concealed architectural lighting accentuates sweeping forms, integrated details highlight premium materials, and decorative fixtures establish intimacy within larger gathering areas. Together, these layers create an environment that feels bright, welcoming, and naturally connected despite being completely enclosed.

Lighting that supports the journey.

Airport lounges serve travelers throughout every hour of the day. Goldstick Studio’s lighting design balances performance with comfort, creating spaces that feel intuitive, relaxing, and memorable while supporting the operational needs of one of the nation’s busiest airports. The result is a hospitality environment that enhances both the architecture and the traveler experience.
